Ministries

We believe that God calls us to “Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God.”  (Micah 6:8)  Through Jesus the Christ, God calls us to “Love God with all our heart and soul, strength and mind, and our neighbors as ourselves.”  (Mark 12:30-31)

Seeking to be faithful individually and collectively to God’s will as it is revealed to us, we strive to be a church that is:

  • A place where worship is spiritually nurturing and intellectually challenging;

  • Open to all people because we believe that our differences, as well as our common affirmations, strengthen us as a caring community of faith;

  • Appreciative of tradition, but committed to faith that is contemporary and vital;

  • A community in which each participant plays an active role in our shared life and ministry;

  • Actively a part of the worldwide Body of Christ, through participation in the United Church of Christ and its ecumenical partners everywhere;

  • A catalyst for personal and collective involvement in God’s work of mercy, love, and justice in our community and the world.

To these ends we offer our prayers and commitment, our talents, resources, and energies.

MARCOS (MARried COuples)

MARCOS began as a social group for married couples (MARried COuples - who knew?) It now functions as a group of friends who go out to dinner once a month - all are welcome. A different restaurant is selected each month; the members take turns coordinating the evening. Typically held on the fourth Friday of each month, activities are announced in the Congregationalist, Bulletin, and on our calendar.

PAALS

PAALS (People of All Ages Looking to Socialize) Singles, couples, families with children, young, old – all are invited to be part of this group as long as you enjoy fellowship, food, and games. PAALS meets on the first Sunday of the month (unless otherwise announced) at 6 p.m. in the church parlor. Regular meetings include a potluck dinner, socializing, and game playing. Children are welcome. Occasionally special outings or events will be held in place of the regular meeting so watch the Congregationalist for details.
