The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet. -Frederick Beuchner

Children's Worship is held in Memorial Chapel next to the parlor.Nursery care is also available for preschoolers during the service; however, all children are welcome to remain in worship. Children may leave for their service after the Children's Sermon during regular Worship.

Labyrinth

The labyrinth is closed until spring. Our patio is being resurfaced, and the labyrinth will be repainted in the spring.

First Central has created a reproduction of the classic Christian labyrinth that was built at Chartres Cathedral in France in the 13th century. This ancient meditation tool is located on the outdoor patio, and is available for public use. The design is 41 feet in diameter. The path leading to the center is one-sixth of a mile long. Benches and tables provide comfortable seating for walkers to rest and meditate.
During the Middle Ages, labyrinths were built in Cathedrals to recreate the pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Modern uses of the labyrinth include walking meditation, centering prayer, and physical and spiritual healing. Walking the path serves to quiet the mind, and deliver us from the chaos and stress of daily life. Feel free to come and experience this ancient form of meditation.

Meditation Room

A meditation room has been created for quiet reflection, prayer, meditation, or just a quiet refuge. Located in a room at the back of Memorial Hall, the Meditation Room is available Sundays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and other times by appointment.

the Sanctuary

The Sanctuary, like the Meditation Room, is also available for quiet reflection, prayer, and meditation. Call the church office for availability.
